Reporter. Writer. Photographer.
Los Angeles-based journalist working for the award-winning independent news publication L.A. TACO. Izzy Ramirez reports on the ICE raids in Southern California, deaths in ICE detention, political corruption, protest movements, and the day-to-day reality of immigration enforcement as it clashes with local community watch teams and rapid response networks.
His work for L.A. TACO has been referenced in the Columbia Journalism Review in The Case for Unbordered Writing by Jean Guerrero, and he was part of the L.A. TACO team that was awarded the 2026 Latino Spirit Award for Journalism and Media by the California Latino Legislative Caucus.
Alongside reporting, he documents California through photography focused on atmosphere, liminal spaces, and the quieter moments of urban life, as well as through creative writing.
